Information releases a unified podcast paradise
We have revamped the Danish news publisher’s app providing a seamless, all-in-one listening experience for its entire podcast universe and simplifying news consumption for subscribers.
All-in-one consumption
We’re happy to announce a significant update to Dagbladet Information’s news app, creating a unified hub for their podcast universe. This accomplishment merges the worlds of reading and listening under one umbrella service. The updated app also includes enhanced design components and added content for the read front page, offering users daily overviews of articles, latest reviews, and more.
Information already had 19 podcasts available on mainstream streaming platforms. However, they recognized the potential of offering a seamless, all-in-one listening experience for their subscribing audience. The updated app now serves as a one-stop-shop for Information's content, giving subscribers everything they need in one place.
The new feature allows users to queue a mix of podcast episodes and read articles, making it easy to tailor content to individual tastes and situations. Users are also kept in the loop about the latest episodes of their favorite active podcasts and can access a full series of in-depth podcasts that are no longer adding new episodes.
“Seeing the product (app) develop together with the needs of the users is why I work as a Product designer.”Mette Gry Schmidt, Product Design Lead, Adapt
A forward-thinking Danish news publisher
While this move marks a significant milestone, Information is not resting on its laurels. They, together with the Adapt mobile team, are already looking to the future, contemplating how to make it easier for subscribers to discover and start listening to podcasts in the app, and how to ensure an optimal listening experience.
The newly updated app, designed with SwiftUI for a unique and scalable UX, targets a wide range of users. From podcast novices to avid listeners, Information's latest offering is set to elevate their experience and keep them around for more news to be consumed.
This app is a testament to Information's commitment to adapt and grow, keeping pace with the evolving digital landscape while staying true to their mission of delivering high-quality journalism.
