Stepping up the fight against digital fraud, today
We have helped Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden upgrade the “Mit Digitale Selvforsvar”-app, strengthening the prevention and fight against digital fraud among the Danish population.

A national challenge
The need for digital self-defense has never been greater. One-third of Danes have already been victims of digital fraud, while three out of four have faced attempts. In 2024 alone, 39,824 cases were reported, each demanding police investigation and straining resources.
Many Danes feel confident in spotting scams, but that confidence quickly fades when artificial intelligence enters the picture. Most worry that AI will make fraud harder to detect, and many already doubt their ability to recognize AI-driven scams. This points to a false sense of security: AI is no longer a distant threat. It is already being used in advanced phishing and manipulation today.

A modern, future-ready app for a collective defense
The upgraded "Mit Digitale Selvforsvar" app's core ambition is to be the go-to digital protection tool for all Danes, helping reduce the number of fraud victims.
By sharing tips and alerts about online fraud with trusted people, users can help others stay safe while also protecting themselves. The app fosters a culture of collective awareness, where everyone, regardless of age, can contribute to a safer digital everyday life. With timely alerts and guidance when in doubt, it empowers citizens to take action and support one another against digital threats.
New features

Cultivating a united front
Danes largely agree on shared responsibility against digital fraud—83% support helping each other. Yet reality lags: 29% of victims never reach out, despite 95% saying they would. Many feel uncertain—40% don’t know how to help, and 54% want clearer guidance on where to seek support. Shame and doubts about authorities deepen this “invisible problem.”

The upgraded app directly addresses these barriers. By facilitating community reporting, offering 'Trusted Helpers,' and providing clear guidance, the app aims to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and provide accessible support, helping to prevent fraud, ease pressure on police, and keep money in people's pockets.
As developers, we’re pleased to have helped upgrade “Mit Digitale Selvforsvar” in collaboration with Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden and will continue to support their mission in creating a more secure and resilient digital environment for every Dane.
