New Client: Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden
Digital fraud has grown rapidly in recent years, affecting more and more people in Denmark. That’s why our new collaboration with Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden matters — they understand the need for a safer digital life. In 2017, they launched the “Mit Digitale Selvforsvar” (MDS) app, and now we’re helping upgrade it to empower all Danes to stay safe online.
Targeting Danes
As AI and digital technologies continue to advance, digital threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. One third of the Danish population has been subjected to digital fraud, while three out of four have experienced attempted digital fraud (Forbrugerrådet Tænk). That’s why we’re not taking this collaboration lightly, but will commit ourselves to help Danes protect themselves from evolving digital risks by:

Making MDS the go-to digital protection tool for Danes
Reducing the number of victims of digital fraud
The dual impact of fraud
Fraud impacts not just individuals but society as a whole. In Denmark, every reported case triggers a police investigation, straining resources. In 2024 alone, 39.824 cases were reported (NCIK Report 2024).
To counter this, the update to MDS will raise awareness and educate the public about digital threats and scams—helping prevent fraud, ease pressure on police, and keep money in people’s pockets instead of in the hands of criminals.
A collective effort for a safer digital experience
Forbrugerrådet Tænk’s and TrygFonden research on digital fraud explored where the responsibility for online safety should rest. The results were clear: 83% of people believe we should support one another, yet in practice, this help largely remains within close family and social circles (Forbrugerrådet Tænk).
With the soon to be updated MDS app, Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden aims to elevate online safety from an individual concern to a shared societal responsibility, by making MDS a strong and proactive platform that not only prevents and combats fraud but also empowers Danes to stand together against scammers. The update to the app will facilitate a community, where users can find the following features:
Real-time threat intelligence and sharing
Community reporting and verification
Educational resources and awareness campaigns
Collaboration with law enforcement and financial institutions
Collaborating for a safer digital future
Scammers will continue to exploit digital channels, but this is something we can combat together by equipping all Danes with the right digital tools, knowledge and features that empower everyone to engage more safely online. We look forward to advancing this crucial initiative with Forbrugerrådet Tænk and TrygFonden, ensuring a safer digital future for all.
