The r8Dio app is live

A warm endorsement from our trusted client Andel Energi got us a new friend in r8Dio, and an exciting app project at hand. With joint passion and determination to create a listening experience users would love, we kicked off the project in 2024 with meticulous planning, design iterations and development which culminated in the app’s launch during an exclusive press event early November. Here we are today, just 2.5 months later, and the app has not only met expectations but surpassed them with overwhelmingly positive feedback from users. A monster high-level collaboration is beginning to bear fruit.

And we’ve got plenty of app features in the pipeline to keep enhancing the listening experience for current and coming users of r8Dio. Keep reading.

A launch moment to remember

The official launch of r8Dio’s app in early November, dubbed r8Dio 3.0, was a celebration of innovation. As r8Dio’s Director Klavs Bundgaard noted, the app isn’t just high-level—it’s "monster high level." The launch video shared in an exclusive forum marked the beginning of a new chapter for r8Dio’s audience. Our very own Creative Lead at Adapt, Jeff Kristiansen, went on stage and delivered a memorable app speech, cementing just how specialized our agency is in creating apps that deliver impact. 

Technical pains are a thing of the past for r8Dio’s thousands of listeners. Since day one, they have been able to experience an app that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetics.

From the very beginning we’ve had a laser focus on creating a stellar listening experience in the app, packed with the newest features, prioritizing both ease of use and accessibility for an effortless user experience.

Here are some standout features:

• Streamlined login or sign-up experience: With the bare minimum of steps users can easily login or sign up for a new membership in the app with the in-app payment.

• Exploring Content: Existing members can find all their favorite programs effortlessly from the home screen. With a “new to r8Dio” section, newcomers are guided to where to begin their r8Dio experience.

• Enhanced interaction: The large CTA button on the program overview adapts based on whether the user is logged in, hasn’t yet listened to an episode, is currently listening, or has finished all episodes (“restart”). We’ve considered the different scenarios users might face to ensure it’s easy and quick to start playback. The playback buttons are fast and easily accessible on all pages. In general, we’ve carefully chosen the exact user actions needed to give the user a seamless app and listening experience.

• Design for fans: Every element, feature, page and the player itself is designed with precision to fit the unique r8Dio brand. 

• Cross-Platform Availability: The app ensures a seamless experience on both Android and iOS.

A strong start

Within weeks of the launch, r8Dio’s app has seen significant traction:

• Active users: 25% of the total member base is active in the app every day.

• Feature madness: The new 30sec fast-forward feature and the 15sec rewind has been used 90k times in average each. 

• Fans love the app: currently the app has an app-store rating of 4,6 based on 1,5k reviews.

The collaboration with  r8Dio  has been a resounding success, and the dear friends of the radio have finally gotten the app they so deserved. As r8Dio continues to grow, we’re excited to see how the app will evolve to meet its users' needs.

We have some exciting new features incoming. Soon members will be able to download episodes so offline listening becomes a new reality.  Lastly we can’t wait to show you Bundgaard AI. A standout feature in the app where members finally can talk to the always busy Klavs Bundgaard and ask him anything and everything. That’s high level AI right there.
