Fighting for a just and equal future

For over half a century, Oxfam has been restoring hope and promoting equality in a world plagued by poverty, injustice, and inequality. The organization's recent redesign and launch of their Danish website, oxfam.dk, positions Oxfam Denmark as a passionate and credible force in the fight against these issues.

The power of people

Oxfam Denmark was founded in 1966 and originates from the worldwide student organization WUS. Later rebranded to IBIS, the organization joined Oxfam in 2016 and became Oxfam IBIS. In 2023, the organization changed name to Oxfam Denmark to underscore their commitment to the global Oxfam family and its broader alliances.

Oxfam Denmark has a core mission to mobilize people power to fight against inequality and build a human economy to end poverty and injustice.

Change starts from within

Oxfam Denmark’s new strategy “A just and equal future” zooms in on making a difference in four core areas: economic justice, climate justice, transformative education and humanitarian response

It begins with gearing their website to meet their ambitions of becoming a more influential, credible and evidence-based national voice. To be the change that they want to see in the world. The website has to play an increasingly important role, showcasing their values and how contributions make a tangible positive impact on the world.

oxfam education

One of Oxfam Denmark’s core areas is education. They fight for transformative education that gives students better opportunities and builds their capacity to help create a more equal society.

It’s been a really exciting journey - from the analysis phase and on to development. We’ve really got a website that meets the criteria we set in the beginning of the project. The new Oxfarm Denmark site positions us in the professional light we see ourselves in and will undoubtedly help our visibility in the market and the financial support we receive thereof.

Inspired to take action

Through a mixture of strategy and design workshops, focus groups and user tests we decided on developing a sustainable and adaptable platform with a mobile-first approach. We wanted to create new engaging user flows and credible interaction that would inspire action through honest and evidence-based storytelling.

With a new design that reflects diversity, easier navigation, clear site hierarchy and logical and frictionless donation system, the website offers a superior user experience in line with how Oxfam Denmark’s aims to appear towards their audience.
