Rebooting music rights for the digital age
In response to new industry regulations and growing digital demands, Koda partnered with us to simplify and modernize its online presence. Together, we’ve enhanced their web landscape so it now supports Koda’s growth ambitions and brings clarity to music rights for those who create, manage, and rely on them.
The improved, future-ready platform strengthens Koda’s ongoing efforts to make music rights more transparent and supportive—contributing to a stronger music scene and a fairer financial foundation for everyone involved.

In a complex system of music rights, agreements, and music revenue stream, Koda aims at creating simplicity and transparency

Shaping the future of a complex music industry
Koda plays a vital role in Denmark’s music ecosystem by ensuring fair compensation for more than 51,000 composers, songwriters, and publishers. Their ambition is to rank among the world’s leading rights organizations. With a new digital strategy, Koda aims to communicate more clearly about the complexities of the music industry and simplify the management of music rights for artists, publishers and partners. Through this, they seek to help shape a more sustainable music industry—socially, environmentally, and economically.

A digital shift toward clarity and innovation
This wasn't a complete rebuild, but a strategic redesign carried out as part of Koda's new digital strategy. Building on its existing foundation, we've created a faster, more intuitive and frictionless web landscape. We crafted a product strategy that could turn complexity into structure and intention. This included in-depth user research, a new navigation model, and a design system that could evolve alongside Koda.
The new site was built with its users at the center. By combining insights from user testing and data analysis, we uncovered pain points and made well-informed design choices. The result is an experience that meets the needs of all Kodas' audience groups, from first-time visitors to long-standing members, offering intuitive guidance at every step. With a design grounded in transparency and trust, users can now navigate the site with greater ease and confidence
“Our collaboration with Adapt has accelerated the development of our new website. Through in-depth user testing and a complete rethinking of our written web communication, they helped us create a digital experience that is both more user-friendly and more targeted.”Irene Hygum Pedersen, Team Leader – IT & Projects, Koda

A scalable design system that lasts
Koda’s new website marks a strategic shift toward a user-first digital presence. At the core it is a modular, scalable design system that aligns with Koda’s renewed brand identity and ensures a consistent, high-quality experience across all digital touchpoints.
This system is designed to last. It’s a sustainable setup that doesn’t need to be reinvented in a year, but instead evolves with the organisation. It lays the groundwork for long-term growth, making it easier for Koda to expand its digital presence in step with its increasing reach and influence.

“A design system is not just about documenting design, it's a reusable system that ensures the brand creates a consistent experience for Koda's users”Mette Gry Schmidt, Lead Product Designer, Adapt

Connecting with users via design
The design system provides Koda with the flexibility to express itself while maintaining a clear and consistent experience across platforms. It’s not just about colors and components, it’s about enabling better communication, smoother workflows, and a more meaningful connection with users.

Inspired by the geometry of the logo, the interface uses form and color to create intuitive transitions and interactions

The drums keep beating
This project marks the beginning of Koda’s digital improvements, and the partnership between Koda and Adapt is set to grow with it. The new web landscape lays the foundation for everything that follows, from user-driven strategy to sustainable design practices.
