Protecting animals, saving lives

Five years ago we partnered with Dyrenes Beskyttelse, taking over an older Drupal solution and giving them a digital facelift that clarifies their mission and makes animal adoption easier for everyone. Today, we're still partners.

A voice for animals since 1875

Dyrenes Beskyttelse has worked for almost 150 years to secure better lives for animals in Denmark. The organization helps animals in need, prevents abuse, and advocates for a respectful and sustainable relationship between animals, humans, and nature.

Their website plays a crucial role in spreading knowledge about production animals, family pets, and wildlife to a wide range of audiences — from citizens and pet owners to producers, researchers, retailers, authorities, and legislators.

Fighting for a better life for animals

Despite its strong recognition, many Danes don’t fully know what Dyrenes Beskyttelse stands for. Over time, the website had become cluttered and confusing, making it difficult to present the full scope of the organization’s work.

A UX review confirmed the need for change: the site had to be clearer, more engaging, and better at converting visitors into supporters, donors, and adopters. At the same time, the organization needed to showcase the breadth of its work — from animal welfare advocacy to shelter adoptions.

A site getting new feathers

We focused on giving Dyrenes Beskyttelse’s website a facelift that would strengthen both presentation and usability. The goal was not to build entirely new functionality, but to optimize the existing site so it could more clearly communicate who the organization is, what it stands for, and why it matters.

Renewed and improved

Dyrenes Beskyttelse's digital CVI was renewed, ensuring a modern look and feel that reflects their professionalism and credibility. New content modules were introduced to make the visitor experience more dynamic, engaging, and informative. This way, knowledge about animal welfare can reach a broader audience in an accessible and inspiring way.

Finally, the site was placed on a new technical foundation, ensuring stability, scalability, and smoother operations going forward. With this, Dyrenes Beskyttelse has a digital platform that secures engagement, drives action, and presents the organization’s full range of initiatives — from rescue operations and shelters to political influence and education.
