Customer data is hard to get without seeming demanding. But can you build loyalty by exchanging insights for something valuable and fun? We partnered with NORMAL to create an abnormal app


A unique Danish retail chain
NORMAL, a Danish retail chain founded in 2013, sells everyday products at abnormal prices—ranging from skincare and shampoo to make-up and cleaning items. Since then, it has grown to more than 900 stores across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.



Loyalty fuels growth
As NORMAL aimed to grow, they needed more loyal customers and store traffic. But as a brick-and-mortar chain, their insights were limited to transactional data, restricting strategic initiatives.
To change this, they sought a platform that could redefine loyalty - offering inspiration, product info, shopping, and self-service. In return, they would gain vital customer data to fuel their growth.



Something in return
NORMAL’s “Something-for-something” concept lets customers share data in exchange for entertainment, games, giveaways, and news—creating a win-win loyalty platform. The result is an engaging app with strong loyalty levers.
Reflecting NORMAL’s playful, ironic brand, the app focuses on gamification with customizable games, competitions, and prizes redeemable in stores. With credit card integration, users access receipts, earn trophies, and unlock giveaways. Built natively for iOS and Android, the app uses Storebox by Nets for receipts and Agillic for marketing automation.


Results
The app is ranked 2nd in the App Store under “Entertainment” with a 4,6 star rating based on 36.000 user reviews.
